Athena travels light, but you would never guess this from looking at her closet! Moo moos are her favorite kind of fashion. The bigger, the brighter, the better. For her there's nothing more comfortable, and Athena is all about comfort. Another favorite is a blue 1940's dress with flowers that she fell in love with, and had such dress envy when she saw her friend Desiree wearing it. Later it was passed it on to their mutual friend Meryl, who later gave it to Athena. She loves a good hand me down. Alain, another friend, brings her back treasures from thrift stores, usually with lots of patterns and more recently there is a recurring African theme. These are some of her all time favorites.
Last spring she moved in with her boyfriend, which is a nice balance because he is the opposite of her. He has a lot of stuff. Some of her favorite things are his elephant figurines that he and his family have collected over the years. You will find them positioned throughout the house 'walking' away from the door, this is for good luck.
There is always a flurry of activity in the apartment, whether they are cooking, painting, writing, or drawing. The newest project in the apartment is her office. Between film production and acting she reads a lot of scripts! She is always catching up on reading and needs a quiet place to focus. Athena worked on her first feature this summer as a producer on Kiss of the Damned, directed by Xan Cassevettes. You can imagine she was very excited to work with Xan whose family has created some of the most memorable films ever made and now she is carrying on the inspiring tradition.
